Hugh H. Mo is the Principal at the Law Firm of Hugh H. Mo, P.C., founded on January 1, 1994. The Firm represents Pacific Rim and domestic Chinese clients in corporate, commercial, criminal, investment, litigation and real estate matters. During the past twenty years, Mr. Mo and the Firm have been actively engaged in the practice of white collar criminal defense and the handling of complex commercial and corporate litigation in federal and state courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration. Additionally, the Firm has handled numerous commercial and real estate transactions.
Mr. Mo graduated from New York University and received his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. After eight years as an assistant district attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, including two years in the Citywide Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Mo served for four years as the Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Trials in the New York City Police Department. At the time, he was the highest ranking Asian American in New York City government.
Mr. Mo then served as Partner-In-Charge for six years in the China Practice Group at Whitman & Ransom (predecessor to Whitman, Breed, Abbott & Morgan) in New York, by representing Chinese banking, corporate, litigation and real estate clients in the United States and overseas.
Mr. Mo has extensive investigative and jury trial experience, including supervision of numerous complex criminal, business fraud and internal police corruption investigations and tried over fifty felony and civil jury trials to verdict. Mr. Mo also presided as Chief Administrative Judge in over 300 administrative trials in the New York City Police Department.
